My Journey
In a Detailed para
2014
The Spark Ignites: Decision to Pursue CA
After completing my 12th standard from Green Valley Public School, Tohana, with a commendable 90.6% in the Commerce stream, I found myself standing at a significant crossroads in life. While many of my classmates were preparing to join traditional college courses or universities, I felt an inner calling—a quiet but firm voice urging me to take a different path. A path filled with challenges, yet rich with purpose and possibility. I chose the road less traveled: the journey to become a Chartered Accountant.
This was not just a career choice—it was the beginning of a dream. A dream not only to build a profession for myself but to carve out a legacy that would stand tall through time. With limited guidance but unlimited determination, I enrolled for the CPT (Common Proficiency Test), the entry-level exam for the CA course. Recognizing the need for the right environment and focused coaching, I moved to Sri Ganganagar—a decision that marked the first real step outside my comfort zone.
Living away from home for the first time was not easy. I missed the familiarity of my town, my family, and my routine. But that longing turned into fuel for my ambition. With disciplined study hours, unwavering focus, and the support of a few like-minded peers, I immersed myself completely in preparation. The hard work paid off. I cracked CPT on my first attempt, scoring 150 out of 200—passing with distinction.
2015
The Foundation Strengthens: IPCC and First Victory
With CPT successfully conquered, I set my sights on the next major milestone in the Chartered Accountancy journey—CA Intermediate (IPCC). I moved to Delhi, India’s educational hub, to prepare under some of the nation’s most renowned faculties. I had the privilege of learning from stalwarts like CA Ajay Jain for Strategic Financial Management, CA Ashish Kalra for Accounting, CA Mayank Jain for Law and Audit, and CA Praveen Jindal for Advanced Accounting. Each class was not just about syllabus completion—it was an immersion into the depth of the subject, taught with passion and precision.
Living alone in a new city, away from the comfort of home and family, brought its own share of challenges. From managing daily chores and meals to battling the silence of a PG room, every day tested my patience and discipline. But rather than letting these difficulties deter me, I used them as fuel. I immersed myself in books, classes, and self-study with a clear vision in mind.
In May 2015, I appeared for both groups of IPCC. The results were nothing short of a personal triumph. I secured 482 marks out of 700, cleared both groups in the first attempt, and earned exemptions in six out of seven subjects. This outstanding result made me the District Topper of Sri Ganganagar. It wasn’t just a rank—it was validation that my sacrifices, efforts, and dreams were all aligned toward a greater purpose.
2016
Entering the Profession: Articleship at Luthra & Luthra
After successfully clearing my IPCC examinations, I was thrilled to take the next major step in my CA journey—articleship. I initially secured my position at Luthra & Luthra Chartered Accountants in Delhi, a reputed firm well-regarded for offering robust exposure in statutory audits, taxation, and regulatory compliance. Working under the guidance of senior professionals like CA Akhilesh Gupta and CA Priya Juneja, I was introduced to the real-world application of everything I had studied. I was involved in statutory audits of mid-sized companies, preparation of tax audit reports, and computing income tax liabilities. I also contributed to corporate documentation and assisted in drafting replies to departmental notices, which helped sharpen my analytical and documentation skills.
Despite the valuable learning and nurturing environment, I started feeling that I was capable of pushing my boundaries even further. I realized that if I truly wanted to gain world-class exposure, challenge my limitations, and develop a more diverse skill set, I would need to step out of my comfort zone. That realization planted the seed of a bigger dream—to work with a Big 4 accounting firm. I knew it wouldn’t be easy, but the idea of working on high-profile clients, multinational accounts, and being part of a global network excited me deeply. With renewed motivation and clarity.
Breaking Barriers: Selected at Deloitte Haskins & Sells LLP
Despite the prestige of working at Deloitte Haskins & Sells LLP, the challenges of managing a demanding schedule while living alone in Delhi began affecting my health. The pressure of handling top-tier clients, tight deadlines, and CA Final studies left me exhausted. Staying in a PG without proper food or emotional support made it harder to cope. Over time, my physical and mental well-being declined, and I realized that continuing under such conditions might hinder both my career and personal growth.
With careful thought and support from my family and Deloitte mentors, I made the difficult decision to transfer my articleship for the final year to CA Sahil Allahawadhi & Associates in my hometown, Tohana. This change brought much-needed stability. I began working with SME clients, handling tax audits, GST compliance, and financial planning. The smaller setup allowed for closer client interaction and deeper understanding of grassroots-level business needs.
This dual exposure—from a Big 4 to a local practice—shaped me holistically. I learned the importance of adaptability, self-care, and client empathy. While Deloitte gave me technical strength and corporate polish, Tohana grounded me with practical wisdom. This phase taught me that real success lies in balance—between ambition and well-being.
2017
A Strategic Retreat: Returning Home for Health & Balance
While working at Deloitte in Delhi offered unmatched exposure to high-end clients and large-scale audits, the demanding lifestyle began to take a toll on my health. Living alone in a PG, managing intense work hours, and preparing for CA Final created a constant state of mental and physical exhaustion. Despite my passion and drive, I realized that *no success is worth compromising one’s health*.
With clarity and courage, I made a strategic decision—to *transfer my final year of articleship* to my hometown, joining *CA Sahil Allahawadhi & Associates* in Tohana. This was not a step back, but a conscious retreat to restore balance and rebuild my strength. At this local firm.
This move gave me a unique dual perspective—one shaped by corporate discipline and the other rooted in small-town relationship-driven practice. More importantly, it brought *emotional stability, improved health, and renewed focus*. It taught me that true growth isn’t always about moving forward at full speed; sometimes, it’s about pausing, healing, and then returning stronger—with purpose, clarity, and resilience.
2018
The First Big Fall: CA Final Attempt & Failure
With my articleship completed, I appeared for my first CA Final attempt in November 2018, full of hope and determination. However, the result didn’t go in my favor—I couldn’t clear. It was a deeply disheartening moment. The weight of health issues, mental fatigue, and academic pressure all seemed to come crashing down. After years of hard work and sacrifice, this setback felt like a personal failure, and for a brief moment, I questioned everything.
But failure didn’t break me—it awakened something within. It forced me to pause, reflect, and understand what was truly needed to conquer the CA Final. I realized that cracking one of India’s toughest exams wasn’t just about mastering the syllabus. It demanded much more—mental resilience, emotional stability, and consistent focus. I had to not only rebuild my study strategy but also my mindset.
I promised myself that I wouldn’t give up. I would rise—not just as a student but as a stronger, wiser version of myself. With renewed determination, I restructured my routine, focused on health, and brought more discipline into my preparation. This failure became the foundation of my comeback—and ultimately, the turning point of my CA journey.
2019
Regaining Confidence: Clearing CA Final Group 2
After the setback in my first attempt, I decided to take a step-by-step approach. I focused my energy on preparing for *Group 2* of the CA Final and appeared for the exam in *November 2019*. This time, my efforts bore fruit—I cleared the group. That result brought immense relief and a wave of renewed confidence. It reminded me that setbacks are not the end but stepping stones to success when met with perseverance and the right mindset.
Passing Group 2 was more than just an academic achievement—it was a personal victory. It reaffirmed my belief in patience, self-discipline, and consistent effort. I had tasted the bitter disappointment of failure, but now I was beginning to feel the sweetness of progress. That moment rekindled the fire in me, showing that my dreams were still very much within reach.
Though I was only halfway through the CA Final, the journey had already transformed me. It taught me that success is often delayed, but never denied to those who refuse to quit. Each challenge was shaping me—mentally, emotionally, and professionally—into someone far stronger and more determined than I had ever imagined. The journey ahead still awaited, but now I walked with purpose and belief.
2020
Navigating the COVID Storm: Growth Amidst Global Pause
As the COVID-19 pandemic brought the world to a standstill, it also disrupted the CA exam schedule, pushing the *May 2020 attempt to November*. While many saw this delay as a setback, I chose to view it as an opportunity. Instead of complaining or losing momentum, I decided to capitalize on the unexpected time. The lockdown gave me a rare pause—a chance to reflect, rebuild, and reset both mentally and physically.
I adopted a more holistic approach to my preparation. Alongside a disciplined study schedule, I focused on improving my *physical fitness, practicing **meditation, and following a structured daily routine. These habits not only boosted my concentration but also helped me maintain emotional balance during uncertain times. The solitude of lockdown, though difficult at first, taught me **emotional endurance* and self-discipline—qualities essential for succeeding in the CA Final.
By the time November 2020 approached, I was no longer the same person who had once crumbled under pressure. I had grown—mentally tougher, emotionally stable, and spiritually grounded. The pandemic, rather than derailing my journey, had prepared me to tackle the final leg with a stronger mindset. I was now ready to finish what I had started—with full force and clarity.
2021
The Dream Realized: Qualified as a Chartered Accountant
On *1st February 2021, the moment I had envisioned for years finally became a reality—I qualified as a **Chartered Accountant*. It was more than just a result; it was the culmination of countless sleepless nights, sacrifices, setbacks, and relentless determination. As I looked at the pass notification, memories of every challenge, every failure, and every breakthrough came flooding back. This wasn’t just a personal milestone—it was a dream realized for me and my family.
The journey had tested me at every level—academically, mentally, and emotionally. From moving cities for better coaching, navigating articleship transfers, battling health issues, and overcoming failures, I had experienced it all. But what kept me going was an unshakable belief that I was meant for this. I embraced each hurdle as a lesson, each delay as a part of the process.
Becoming a CA not only gave me a professional identity but also shaped me into a resilient and grounded individual. It taught me that success isn’t about never falling—it’s about rising every time you do. That day marked not just the end of a chapter, but the beginning of a new journey—with purpose, confidence, and a heart full of gratitude.
Entering Corporate India: Role at ICICI Bank
After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, I stepped into the corporate world by joining *ICICI Bank, one of India’s leading private sector banks. It was my first formal corporate role, and I was eager to apply my technical knowledge in a real-world financial ecosystem. I was placed in the **Risk and Credit Department*, where I worked on evaluating loan proposals, analyzing financial statements, and assessing the creditworthiness of various businesses.
The transition from academic rigor to corporate responsibility was both exciting and challenging. I learned to balance precision with speed, adapt to structured processes, and work collaboratively in high-performing teams. At ICICI, I gained firsthand experience in credit risk management, financial analysis, and exposure to different industry sectors. Each file, client discussion, and internal review sharpened my analytical thinking and decision-making skills.
Working at ICICI Bank helped me understand how large financial institutions operate and how macroeconomic and microeconomic factors influence lending decisions. It also taught me the importance of timelines, professional communication, and cross-department coordination. My tenure here not only enriched my technical foundation but also enhanced my confidence, professionalism, and strategic thinking—skills that would later play a vital role in my entrepreneurial journey.
2022
Entering the Industry After Leaving ICICI Bank
After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, I joined *ICICI Bank* as a *Credit Manager*, handling high-net-worth clients and advising them on financial products, investments, and portfolio strategies. While the role offered corporate polish, targets, and client exposure, I felt a growing disconnect. My core passion lay not in selling financial products but in applying my CA knowledge to solve deeper financial and compliance challenges.
After months of reflection, I decided to take a bold step—resign from the security of a stable corporate job and enter the *CA practice and consulting industry*. It wasn’t an easy decision. There were doubts, financial uncertainties, and pressure from people who didn’t understand why someone would leave a bank job. But I knew this was the path where I could build something of my own.
I started small—offering services in taxation, bookkeeping, and consultancy to local clients. Slowly, through consistency and networking, I expanded into *foreign accounting, outsourcing, and **mentorship*. This phase of my life taught me that true success lies in alignment—between your qualifications, your passion, and your purpose. Leaving ICICI wasn’t a fallback—it was a leap forward into a journey where I could truly make an impact.
Birth of a Vision: Launch of SJ Mentorship Group
After gaining valuable corporate experience and understanding the gaps many Chartered Accountants and commerce professionals face in practical skills, I felt a strong urge to give back to the community that shaped me. This led to the birth of a new vision—*SJ Mentorship Group. Launched with a mission to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world application, SJ Mentorship Group was designed to mentor, guide, and empower young professionals in areas often overlooked—foreign accounting, communication skills, LinkedIn branding, and career growth strategies*.
I realized that while many students clear exams, they often struggle with job readiness, soft skills, and clarity on career direction. Through SJ Mentorship Group, I started offering structured training programs, live mentorship sessions, and personalized guidance tailored to the needs of CAs, semi-qualified professionals, and commerce graduates. What began as a small initiative soon gained traction, reaching thousands of aspiring professionals across India.
The journey from being a student to becoming a mentor was deeply fulfilling. SJ Mentorship Group became more than just a platform—it became a movement. It gave me purpose beyond personal success and helped me build a community where learning, growth, and transformation go hand in hand.
2023
Going Global: The Foreign Accounting Leap
As I mentored hundreds of CAs and commerce graduates through SJ Mentorship Group, I identified a powerful opportunity—*foreign accounting and global outsourcing. Indian professionals possessed strong technical knowledge but lacked exposure to international accounting platforms like **QuickBooks, Xero, and Wave, as well as an understanding of how to work with clients from the **US, UK, Canada, and Australia*. This gap inspired my next leap: helping Indian talent go global.
I launched a dedicated course on *foreign accounting and bookkeeping outsourcing*, designed to equip professionals with practical skills, international tools, and client-handling confidence. The response was overwhelming—many CAs, especially those struggling with traditional practice or jobs, found a new ray of hope. We covered not just accounting software, but also how to acquire and retain international clients, build LinkedIn authority, and price services competitively.
Going global wasn’t just about teaching accounting—it was about shifting mindsets. I wanted Indian professionals to think beyond borders, believe in their global potential, and build scalable, future-ready careers. This foreign accounting leap opened new doors not only for my mentees but also for me as a mentor, creating a ripple effect of opportunities, confidence, and transformation in the Indian CA community.
The LinkedIn Revolution: Building a Personal Brand
In today’s digital world, technical knowledge alone is not enough—*visibility and personal branding* have become equally important. I realized this firsthand when I started using *LinkedIn* to share my story, insights, and experiences as a Chartered Accountant and mentor. What began as a platform to connect with professionals soon transformed into a powerful tool to *build my personal brand* and expand the reach of *SJ Mentorship Group*.
Through consistent, value-driven content, I began addressing the real issues faced by commerce professionals—lack of guidance, confusion about career paths, and fear of public communication. My posts resonated deeply, attracting thousands of followers and creating a thriving online community. I also guided others on how to *optimize LinkedIn profiles, create engaging content, and use features like **Sales Navigator* and *Creator Mode* to build authority and attract global opportunities.
This LinkedIn revolution didn’t just build my presence—it built *trust*. It opened doors to collaborations, clients, speaking opportunities, and a loyal mentee base. Most importantly, it proved that any CA or commerce graduate, regardless of background, can rise by telling their story and showcasing their expertise. Today, LinkedIn is not just a network—it’s a career accelerator, and I use it to empower others every day.
2024
Community Impact: Launch of FINCOM JOBS & CA SJ Job Portal
While mentoring thousands of Chartered Accountants and commerce graduates, I noticed a recurring issue—*a significant gap between talent and opportunities. Despite having qualifications, many professionals struggled to find the right jobs due to a lack of access, networking, and guidance. Recognizing this challenge, I decided to take impactful action by launching **FINCOM JOBS* and the *CA SJ Job Portal*—platforms exclusively dedicated to the CA and finance community.
These job portals were created with a focused vision: to *bridge the gap between skilled professionals and employers in the finance, accounting, taxation, audit, and foreign outsourcing sectors. Unlike generic job boards, these platforms were tailored to meet the specific needs of commerce professionals.
The initiative quickly gained momentum. Recruiters found pre-qualified, industry-specific talent, and job seekers finally had a trusted, relevant platform to explore meaningful opportunities. Through FINCOM JOBS and the CA SJ Job Portal, we’ve helped hundreds find direction and employment. It’s more than a portal—it’s a mission to uplift the community and ensure *no capable CA is left behind*.
2025
Mission 1000 CA Firms: Global Expansion Strategy
With years of experience in mentoring professionals and witnessing the rising demand for outsourced accounting services globally, I envisioned a bold mission—*to empower 1,000 Indian CA firms to expand internationally through foreign accounting and outsourcing. This initiative, titled **Mission 1000 CA Firms*, was born out of the belief that Indian Chartered Accountants have unmatched potential but often lack the direction, tools, and exposure to tap into global markets.
The strategy is simple yet powerful: train CA firms in *international accounting tools* like QuickBooks, Xero, and Wave; guide them on *client acquisition* through platforms like LinkedIn, Upwork, and cold outreach; and help them build *systems and teams* capable of handling offshore clients. Through detailed courses, live mentorships, and strategic collaborations, we are creating a roadmap for Indian CAs to offer *bookkeeping, taxation, payroll, and CFO services* to clients in the *US, UK, Australia, and Canada*.
This mission isn’t just about business—it’s about transformation. It’s about enabling CA firms in small towns and cities to think global, act digital, and scale sustainably. *Mission 1000* is a movement to position India as the global hub of accounting talent—and we’re just getting started.
